Birthing Resources

Baptist Beautiful Beginnings

The Baptist Beautiful Beginnings program provides education and support to new moms from the start of their pregnancy through the baby’s first years.

This free Saturday workshop is for "Dads Only". In partnership with Families Matters, this group is led by veteran dads who share information from a dad's prospective. Topics include caring for mom and new family dynamics, dealing with crying babies and crying moms, and most importantly, how to be a dynamic dad. Please contact our Maternity Care Coordinator at [email protected] for sign up and registration dates.

Mom & Baby nurses who provide instruction and support can answer questions for any new mom in our Beautiful Bundles group. Moms can get accurate and reliable information on sleeping issues, breastfeeding, safety issues, as well as normal growth and development of their newborn. This group meets at 12:30 p.m. on Thursdays and provides a great opportunity for moms to bond with other new moms, share experiences and gain reassurance. Find the right group for you by reaching out via email at [email protected] or by calling 901-227-9873.

Call the Warm Line and speak with a nurse or leave a message for a call back with any concerns. Reach out by calling 901-227-9421. Return calls are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

After a baby arrives, life can feel joyful but also overwhelming. Feelings of anxiety, isolation and sadness can occur, leaving new moms in need of additional support. You are not alone. Our Rattled! support group provides free, weekly support to all moms regardless of where baby was born. Classes are every Tuesday 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. on the 1st floor of the Women’s Hospital.

Bump2Baby360® app information

Not only is the Bump2Baby360® a pregnancy app available to you through 40 weeks preterm, it is also available for 52 weeks postpartum. You can access class information on your own pace, in the comfort of your own home. You will have access to quick articles and videos in many different languages on topics that follow the milestones of your baby such as cognitive development, sleeping, breast feeding support, teething, first cold, allergies and so much more. You will also have access to our childbirth educators through email to answer any questions you might have.

The Car Seat Program is an additional service provided to our moms delivering at the Women's Hospital. We provide assistance and education regarding car seat installation and safety. Before you go home, have your car seat checked and learn how to install it and use it properly. The nurses who assist with the program are all certified "car passenger safety technicians" (CPST).
