What do hospitalists do?
Hospitalists are physicians who specialize in the care of hospitalized patients. Baptist Medical Group’s highly-trained, board-certified hospitalists are on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, serving as your primary physician during your hospital stay and closely monitoring your condition and coordinating every aspect of your care.
Hospitalists:
- Monitor your condition and respond to changes in your health.
- Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and medical conditions.
- Order and interpret tests, lab work and imaging studies.
- Develop and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Coordinate care among multiple providers and specialists.
- Communicate with patients and families about their care and progress.
