Shell Health and Wellness Series

What: With love from our presenting sponsor Baptist Memorial Health Care, the Overton Park Shell is committed to not only providing great music to build community but supporting our city with mindfulness and good health practice. American Cancer Society's VOICES of Black Women study

What: This is a groundbreaking study that aims to involve 100,000 Black women (25-55 years old) in 20 states to better understand cancer and other health conditions among Black women. Participation involves completing an online health and life history survey at enrollment and updating info twice a year for at least 30 years. This is the largest study of cancer risk and outcomes (links below):

Get Outside! Fitness Programs

Get Outside! Fitness Programs at Shelby Farms Park offer a chance for the whole family to get fit, stay active and enjoy being in nature! Beginners are welcome! Classes are free, but registration is required. A list of events can be found here. Click here for more information.


RENEW Virtual Wellness Program

RENEW is a free, eight-week wellness program that can help you gain healthy behaviors and change your life! Sign up by Wednesday, Oct. 9 at baptistonline.org/renew.

SHE Leads the Way

What: Baptist Health Sciences University is hosting SHE (Science, Health, Empowerment) Leads the Way, an event designed to introduce middle school, high school and college-aged young women to the world of science and health care through empowerment. Participants will have the opportunity to meet leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and gain practical assistance in expanding their education.

When: Monday, Oct. 21 from 5:30-7 p.m.
