Tree of Faith, Hope & Love
What: Baptist Operation Outreach, one of the largest providers of free health care for the homeless in Shelby County, will host its annual Tree of Faith, Hope & Love holiday event for the homeless. Attendees will receive lunch and a backpack filled with gifts and items to keep them warm. They will also have the opportunity to send holiday cards to their loved ones and get their blood pressure checked.
When: Friday, Dec. 13 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Aim to Maintain 2024
What: The Salvation Army Kroc Center of Memphis and Baptist Memorial Health Care have collaborated to bring you classes, workshops, fitness tips and prizes. Everyone is invited to participate and enter to win prizes! Pick up your Aim to Maintain 2024–2025 Goals Sheet (calendar) at Kroc Memphis at 800 E. Parkway S. in Memphis or contact [email protected] for a PDF of the Goals Sheet. Winners will be announced January 11.

JA Inspire
What: JA Inspire is a career exploration program designed for students to learn about and gain exposure to the industries and career opportunities available to them across the Mid-South. The program culminates with both a hands-on expo for eighth graders and an interactive virtual career fair for 11th graders, which brings to life a variety of careers while highlighting the different educational pathways to obtaining them.

American Cancer Society's VOICES of Black Women study
What: This is a groundbreaking study that aims to involve 100,000 Black women (25-55 years old) in 20 states to better understand cancer and other health conditions among Black women. Participation involves completing an online health and life history survey at enrollment and updating info twice a year for at least 30 years. This is the largest study of cancer risk and outcomes (links below):
