Who Can Visit the Pediatric Clinic?
When our patients arrive at our children’s clinic, we ask them to list approved visitors. Patients may add or remove a name at any time. "Family" includes a minor patient's parents, regardless of the gender of either parent, and also includes any person who plays a significant role in an individual's life, such as spouses, domestic partners/civil unions, significant others (of both different and the same sex) and other individuals not legally related to the patient but deemed as family by the patient.
We welcome and encourage parents/guardians or others to stay with the child at all times in most patient care areas. Two parents/guardians or adult designees may stay overnight. Our neonatal and pediatric intensive care units have additional rules about visiting patients.
