Our surgeries
At Baptist North Mississippi Weight Loss Center, our board-certified surgeons perform the gastric sleeve surgery. This procedure offers hope and can help promote significant long-term weight loss.
Am I a good candidate for surgery?
Making the decision to pursue weight-loss surgery begins with careful thought and professional guidance. Generally, we encourage patients to ask themselves the following questions:
- Do I have a body mass index (BMI) of 35 or greater?
- Do I have an obesity-related condition such as type II diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea or other respiratory disorders, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, osteoarthritis, lipid abnormalities, gastrointestinal disorders, or heart disease?
- Am I willing to change my eating habits after surgery?
- Do I understand the risks and benefits associated with weight-loss surgery?
