If You Test Positive for COVID-19

What do to if you test positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19)

If you had your test performed at a Baptist Hospital or Baptist Medical Group clinic, a representative from Baptist will contact you to advise you of next steps. Still, there are some important actions you can take to protect yourself and your family.

Stay at home except to get medical care – Stay in touch with your doctor. Be sure to get care if you feel worse or you think it is an emergency, but call ahead first.

Separate yourself from other people in your home – Put yourself in isolation and avoid sharing personal household items like dishes, linens and towels. Use a separate bathroom and limit contact with pets.

Practice healthy hygiene – Wear a facemask when others are around. Cover your coughs and sneezes. Wash your hands properly, and often.

Clean all high-touch surfaces every day – Routinely clean and disinfect your bedroom and bathroom and high-touch surfaces like phones, remotes, counter and table tops, and doorknobs.

Monitor your symptoms – If your symptoms worsen, seek medical attention, but call first. Wear a facemask if possible and follow care instructions from your doctor or local health department.
