Baptist Memorial Hospital began its journey in 1912 with a single 150-bed facility in Memphis, Tennessee. From these humble beginnings, it rapidly expanded to meet the growing healthcare needs of the region, eventually becoming the largest privately owned hospital in the nation. More than a century later, our commitment to compassionate, high-quality care remains as strong as ever.
