Working to end the opioid crisis
Please join us for this important, one-day summit to address the ongoing opioid addiction crisis. Come learn about its impact on public health and hear information on recent advancements for treating opioid addiction.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss key principles of multisector collaboration and identify opportunities to enhance community engagement and coordinated planning.
- Analyze the impact of stigma on individuals, communities and demonstrate evidence-based strategies for stigma reduction.
- Examine evidence-based addiction medicine practices and determine appropriate applications within the participants’ respective roles and settings.
Target Audience
Registered Nurses (RNs), physicians, advanced practice providers, behavioral health professionals, law enforcement personnel, first responders, prevention specialists and individuals involved in the recovery community.

International Accreditors of Continuing Education and Training (IACET)
As an IACET Accredited Provider, Baptist Memorial Health Care offers CEUs for its learning events that comply with the ANSI/IACET Continuing Education and Training Standard. Baptist Memorial Health Care offers .5 CEUs. To receive full credit, you must be in attendance for the entire program, complete and submit the evaluation and complete the post-assessment with a score of 70% or greater.
Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD)
Baptist Memorial Health Care is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
To obtain 5.0 contact hours of nursing, continuing professional development participants must be present for the entire educational activity and complete a post-assessment no later than noon on Oct. 9, 2026.
