Healthy Memphis - "Spring into Shape"

Daily Bread
A cheerful look brings joy to the heart.
Proverbs 15:30
In 2002 and 2003 respectively, Self and Men’s Health magazines rated Memphis, Tenn., among the unhealthiest cities for women and men in the United States. Both surveys considered obesity, diet, disease rates and other factors, which showed that Memphians have more preventable diseases than other cities in the United States. As a result of this data, several Memphis organizations joined together to form the Healthy Memphis Common Table, a conglomerate of local health and business organizations with the common goal of making Memphis a healthier city. Their efforts include addressing the obesity issue and motivating Memphians to get moving.

Baptist Memorial Health Care has joined with WREG News Channel 3 and The Commercial Appeal to help Memphis, specifically families and children, get healthy. Baptist’s campaign, "Spring into Shape," offers practical tips parents can use to help their children develop healthy exercise and eating habits for a lifetime.
