Roberto D. Lachica, MD is a board-certified aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon. He is in his 22nd year of practice. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, certified 1999 and re-certified in 2009 and 2019. Dr. LaChica joined Baptist Medical Group in 2020.
Prior to joining BMG, Dr. Lachica had a full-time clinical practice with University Plastic Surgeons, where he developed a national reputation in the area of complex hand and lower extremity reconstruction. He has several podium presentations and invited lectures to this effect, most notably at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Meetings, and articles on hand, lower extremity, and facial reconstruction in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Lachica spent his childhood in the Philippines and attended high school and college in central Illinois. He comes from a medical family and is the son of a surgeon and a psychiatrist. His wife of 24 years, Judith Ruiz MD, is an anesthesiologist.
