John D Brophy, MD

Dr. John Brophy is a board-certified neurosurgeon and has maintained a practice in Memphis since 1995. He specializes in a variety of surgical techniques including discectomy, posterior lumbar interbody fusion, anterior cervical discectomy and fusion, carpal tunnel release, corpectomy, and gamma knife surgery. A West Point graduate, he completed his neurological residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 1989. His military experience and training include commander of a neurosurgical detachment during Operation Desert Shield-Desert Storm and the Army Ranger and Airborne courses. He served as Chief of Neurosurgery at the Naval Medical Center San Diego and held the rank of Lieutenant Colonel with twelve years on active duty.
