Dr. Lou Arrindell joined the Baptist Medical Group in 2014. He is the neonatology leader of the Antibiotic Stewardship Team and Cutting-Edge Surgical Quality Team at Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women. Dr. Arrindell sees patients in Memphis, Tennessee, and Southaven, Mississippi.

What can a patient expect when they have you as a doctor?

I understand that a stay in the Newborn ICU can be stressful, so I strive to provide evidence-based, compassionate care for my patients. I value and provide clear, concise communication with family members.

What is the most important factor in a doctor patient relationship and why?

Clear communication. It allows a family to take agency and become an active participant in the medical care of their child.

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy when you're not working?

Spending time with my family. Traveling. Volunteering with community organizations. Grilling and smoking meats. Watching college and professional sports, especially the storied tradition of supporting the University of Memphis Tigers and Memphis Grizzlies. Quality improvement and database management.

What about your line of work do you find the most rewarding and why?

Watching the sick become well.
