What can a patient expect when they have you as a doctor?

I believe in a team approach so a person can expect not just from me, but also from my supporting staff, to be treated with respect, thoughtfulness, friendliness and professionalism. We strive to make you and your family feel comfortable and satisfied with the care we deliver. I believe in this approach wholeheartedly.

What is the most important factor in a doctor patient relationship and why?

Trust is the most important factor. It is crucial that you trust that I am capable, expertly knowledgeable, confident and that I care about you and your family. I must trust that you believe in me and that you are willing to at least entertain my recommendations (not everyone must agree). Without trust, there is nothing.

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy when you're not working?

I enjoy traveling, especially to New York, eating really great food and, most of all, spending time with my two daughters and wife.

What about your line of work do you find the most rewarding and why?

My positions have allowed me to help make the system work better for patients, staff and doctors. These positions include: Medical Director of Cardiovascular Service Line at Baptist DeSoto, Medical Director of Echocardiography at Baptist DeSoto, Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Baptist DeSoto Hospital, and Quality Director of Stern Cardiovascular Foundation Inc.
