Baptist welcomes Gynecologic-Oncologist Dr. Nnamdi Gwacham

MEMPHIS, Tenn., April 14, 2026–Baptist Medical Group recently welcomed Dr. Nnamdi Gwacham to Baptist Cancer Center-Memphis Gynecological Oncology.

Gwacham, a gynecologic-oncologist, specializes in the treatment of cervical, ovarian, vulvar and uterine cancers, as well as rare gynecologic malignancies.

“I am excited to welcome Dr. Nnamdi Gwacham to Baptist Medical Group and Baptist Cancer Center,” said Robert Vest, chief operating officer for Baptist Medical Group Specialty Care. “His is an expert physician, dedicated to advancing women’s health, curing cancer and saving women’s lives. He is an important addition to our gynecologic cancer team and will be an invaluable support to women in the Mid-South.”

Gwacham has conducted extensive research on a range of topics related to gynecologic cancers, including techniques for robotic surgery and protocols for surgery and chemotherapy designed to preserve fertility. He has co-authored several book chapters and peer-reviewed studies.

Gwacham earned his doctorate at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia, and received his Master of Science in Human Movement Science from Utah State University in Logan, Utah. He completed his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (formerly Saint Barnabas Medical Center) in Livingston, New Jersey, and fellowships in gynecologic-oncology through the Gruber Visiting Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, and at AdventHealth Orlando Cancer Center in Orlando, Florida.
