Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto celebrates first baby born at the hospital in 2026
SOUTHAVEN, Miss., Jan. 2, 2026– Baptist Memorial Hospital- DeSoto welcomed the first baby born at the hospital on January 1, 2026 at 3:42 a.m.
Tinesha Floyd was ecstatic to welcome her new baby girl Naiari Floyd, who weighed in at 6 pounds, 9.5 ounces.
“It is always a blessing to welcome the first baby of the year at Baptist DeSoto,” said Brian Hogan, CEO and administrator. “It fills us with hope and excitement for the year ahead. Congratulations to the family!”
The hospital presented the family with gifts for the baby, including a baby bathtub filled with diapers, towels and bath essentials.
Baptist DeSoto has a level 2 nursery and provides enhanced care and treatment for newborns with special needs.
Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto is a 339-bed hospital that offers diagnostic, surgical and rehabilitation services, as well as open-heart surgery and a number of other cardiovascular services. The hospital completed a $19 million emergency department expansion and renovation project in 2018 that added 20,000 square feet to the facility.
