Baptist DeSoto to host free baby fair
WHAT: Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto will host a free community baby fair. Nurses, obstetricians, pediatricians and other child health experts will be on hand to share information and answer questions about car seat and seat belt safety, healthy pregnancy, infant CPR and breastfeeding and lactation support services, among other topics. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour Baptist DeSoto’s Women’s Pavillion, including the obstetrical emergency department. There will be a photo booth, giveaways, educational materials and door prizes.

BACKGROUND: Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto is a 339-bed hospital that offers diagnostic, surgical and rehabilitation services, as well as open-heart surgery and a number of other cardiovascular services. The hospital completed a $19 million emergency department expansion and renovation project in 2018 that added 20,000 square feet to the facility. An 87,000-square-foot, $55 million physician office building opened on the hospital campus in July 2022.
