Baptist Collierville is first in Tennessee to offer clinical trial to help improve quality of life for prostate patients
COLLIERVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 14, 2025–Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville is the first hospital in Tennessee to enroll patients in the ARID II trial to evaluate the safety of an implantable device designed to help men regain urinary control and improve quality of life after prostate removal surgery.
Urinary incontinence is common following prostate removal, with two-thirds of men reporting ongoing issues at six months and nearly one-third still affected a year after surgery.
“Post-operative incontinence is one of the most difficult challenges patients face after prostate surgery,” said Dr. Adam Stewart, urologist with Conrad Pearson Clinic and Baptist Collierville. “We are excited to be the first in the state to participate in a study exploring a promising solution for post-surgical incontinence in men.”
Principal investigators for the local study are surgeons with Conrad Pearson Clinic. ARID II will enroll 266 participants across 30 centers. Participants are randomly assigned to receive the investigational device and are followed for up to two years to assess safety and efficacy.
