Baptist Anderson earns sixth consecutive platinum performance achievement award for heart treatment
MERIDIAN, Miss., Aug. 7, 2024– Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center has earned the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for the sixth year in a row.
The award recognizes Baptist Anderson’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients according to the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association’s clinical standards of care. Baptist Anderson is one of only 400 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor.
“For a very impressive sixth time, Baptist Anderson has been recognized for excellence in setting care protocols for patients who present with acute heart attack or stroke,” said Dr. Wes Bennett, interventional cardiologist with Cardiovascular Institute of the South and medical director of cardiology at Baptist Anderson. “I congratulate those in our division who dedicate themselves every day to the well-being of seriously ill heart patients and who are continuing to raise the bar for heart care. This award is truly well deserved.”
To receive the 2024 Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award, the hospital has demonstrated sustained achievement in the Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry for two consecutive years (2022 and 2023), and performed at the highest level for specific performance measures. Full participation in the registry immerses hospitals in a robust quality improvement process using data to drive improvements in adherence to guideline recommendations and overall quality of care provided to heart attack patients.
Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry empowers health care provider teams to consistently treat heart attack patients according to the most current, science-based guidelines and establishes a national standard for understanding and improving the quality, safety and outcomes of care provided for patients with coronary artery disease, specifically high-risk heart attack patients.
