Baptist Memphis to start hiring for area’s first two-story ER

MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 2, 2026 – Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis will be hiring experienced nurses for its expanding emergency department at a job fair on Wednesday, June 3 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Hosted in the hospital’s seminar rooms at 6019 Walnut Grove Road, the event is the first in a series of hiring events for the ER, which will expand from 54 beds to 74 beds and introduce the Mid-South’s first two-story ER.

“This is an exciting opportunity for nurses to advance their careers while joining one of the best hospitals in the state,” said Cara Beard, chief nursing officer for Baptist Memphis. “These candidates will get to work with our new ER leadership team and top staff in modern facilities to deliver exceptional care for the Mid-South.”

The updated ER is slated to open in early fall 2026.
