Sometimes inpatient care is not the best option for our patients. So for our patients 18 years of age and older, that do not require an inpatient level of care, but need more than one hour, one day a week we offer an Intensive Outpatient Program.
Intensive Outpatient (IOP) therapy requires at least three hours a day, four days per week. The therapy sessions consist of a combination of group, individual, and family therapy (if needed). In this treatment option a physician will visit the patient weekly to observe progress and make recommendations for the continuance of care. All initial intensive outpatient assessments are free of charge to help you understand if this treatment option is the best for your individual needs.

Outpatient therapy is considered the traditional mental health therapy approach. Each patient meets individually with their primary therapist, typically one hour a week or as determined between the patient and the therapist. Unlike other treatment options, Outpatient Therapy is available for children five years of age and older, as well as adolescents and adult patients. In addition to the Outpatient Therapy treatment, Baptist Behavioral Health – Union City offers Outpatient Psychotropic Medication Management services for ages 5 and up. This level of psychiatric care will be determined by our behavioral health treatment team, each diagnosis and treatment plan is tailored to the individual patient depending on their specific needs.
