What is a liver/spleen scan?
A liver/spleen scan is a nuclear medicine test. It uses a small amount of radioactive material and a special camera to assess liver function and/or help your physician arrive at a diagnosis.
Why has my physician ordered this exam?
You physician may call for a liver/spleen scan to evaluate you for several conditions, including abscesses, cysts, disease of the liver and/or spleen, and tumors.
