Gastroesophageal Reflux Scan
What is a gastroesophageal reflux scan?
A gastric emptying liquid study is a nuclear medicine test for pediatric patients. It uses a small amount of radioactive material and a special camera to produce images that help assess how efficiently the stomach is being emptied of its contents.
Why has my physician ordered this exam?
This test can help your physician diagnose the presence and/or determine the cause of esophageal reflux, vomiting, gastroparesis (delayed emptying), failure to thrive, and poor feeding.
