Vaginal Atrophy Study

The Baptist Clinical Research Center is currently seeking applicants for participation in a clinical research study for an investigational hormonal medication for the symptoms of vaginal atrophy. If you are a post-menopausal woman suffering from vaginal dryness and itching or pain during intercourse, you may qualify for this study.

Qualified participants may receive study-related evaluations and investigational medication at no cost and may also be compensated for their time.

Baptist Clinical Research Center and Women’s Health Specialists Invite Women to Join Clinical Trials

Baptist Clinical Research Center and Women’s Health Specialists are offering several research studies to women in the Mid-South. The research studies test new medications/treatments for:

   Absent/irregular menstrual cycles
Endometriosis
Overactive bladder

The three- to six-month studies are conducted at the Women’s Health Specialists office and the Baptist Clinical Research Center, both located in the professional office building at 6025 Walnut Grove. This building is adjacent to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis.

Participants will be compensated for any medication needs, examinations/consultations and traveling expenses related to these research studies.




Absent/Irregular Menstrual Cycle Study
Pricipal Investigator: Dr. Thomas Stovall

Baptist Clinical Research Center and Women’s Health Specialists are offering a new research study to women in the Mid-South. The research study tests new medications/treatments for infrequent or absent menstrual cycles and these medicines have the potential to help women have regular periods.

If you’ve had infrequent or absent periods for at least 50 days, you could qualify for this study.

Qualifications
You may qualify if you are:
  • Generally healthy
  • 18 to 50 years old
  • Willing to use an effective, non-hormonal form of birth control during the study
  • Not currently on any hormonal medication
  • Not pregnant or breast-feeding
  • Not at risk for pregnancy

Endometriosis Research Study
Principal Investigator: Dr. Frank Ling

Qualifications
To participate in the endometriosis study, women must:
  • Be between 18 and 45 years old
  • Have regular menstrual cycles
  • Have a surgically documented history of endometriosis
Symptoms
  • Moderate to severe cramping
  • Pelvic pain

Overactive Bladder Research Study
Co-investigators: Dr. Robert Summitt and Dr. Val Vogt

Qualifications
To join the overactive bladder trial, women:
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Have symptoms for at least six months
Symptoms
  • Frequent strong/intense urges to void/urinate
  • Voiding only small amounts of urine
  • Leaking urine before reaching the toilet
