Most hospitals within the Baptist Memorial Health Care system include emergency departments (ED) — staffed with doctors and nurses certified in emergency medicine — which admit patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A premiere 18,000-square-foot ED was completed at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis in 1995, and the renovation at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford doubled the size of that facility's busy ED.
