New Hope for Patients with Inoperable Tumors
The Baptist Centers for Cancer Care in Memphis now offers the CyberKnife ® radiosurgery system — a precise, non-invasive treatment for cancerous and noncancerous tumors anywhere in the body.
The technology is the first of its kind in the Mid-South, and the only of its kind in West Tennessee. CyberKnife ® is the world's first robotic radiosurgery surgery system.
Greater Accuracy. Fewer Treatments.
CyberKnife ® can be used to treat cancer of the prostate, lung, brain, spine, liver, pancreas and kidney. The treatment delivers beams of high-dose radiation to tumors with extreme accuracy. It can even track the tumor motion throughout the treatment, ensuring a minimal amount of dosage to healthy tissue and shorter treatments.
The technology offers:
- A non-invasive alternative to surgery
- No incision
- No pain
- No anesthesia
- No hospitalization
- Little or no recovery time
- Immediate return to normal activities

The CyberKnife ® is another tool in the fight against tumors, and treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, and Cyberknife ® may be used in combination for a comprehensive care plan.
