Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto serves a five-county area that is growing rapidly. With a new leadership team led by Randy King as administrator and CEO, hospital colleagues and physicians continue to extend our support and commitment across the community.
Every year, Baptist DeSoto keeps active in dozens of local charities and "helping-hand" endeavors. Rapid community growth only increases the need, and many of our staff respond with their time and expertise. For instance, this year the hospital's ICU staff raised $5,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant a wish for a terminally ill child who wanted to become a nurse.
Organizations, events and activities we supported in 2004 include the Southaven Chamber of Commerce, the House of Grace, DeSoto County Foundation for Excellence in Education, DeSoto County Relay for Life, DeSoto County School staff appreciation day, the Southaven Pink Line Project, March of Dimes, WINGS Cancer Foundation and free health screenings at Snowden House in Snowden Grove Park for the community's older adults.
