Ventilator Weaning Program

Restorative Care

Baptist Restorative Care Hospital recognizes the special needs of all patients, allowing them to progress at their own pace.

In past years, patients on ventilators had to stay in an intensive care unit. Typically, these patients were seriously ill, with problems such as heart, kidney and neurological diseases, and needing ventilator support. Today, the continuum of care focuses on getting these patients out of the ICUs and into a more appropriate level of care.

Baptist Restorative Care Hospital specializes in caring for acutely ill, medically stable patients on a ventilator. Most often, patients suffer from additional, unrelated diseases and complications that contribute to prolonged ventilator support. Baptist Restorative Care Hospital recognizes the special needs of all patients, allowing them to progress at their own pace. Our multidisciplinary team of specialists has the experience and the advanced technology needed to care for patients who need to be gradually taken off ventilation.
