Baptist Doctors, Nurses, Leadership, and Staff

Learn more about our Baptist doctors, nurses, and staffBaptist's 90-plus years of service to Mid-South communities would not have been possible without the commitment of our highly trained, dedicated staff. Since 1912, Baptist has been driven by our not-for-profit mission, which mirrors the three-fold mission of Christ--healing, preaching and teaching. And our colleagues are the cornerstone of our institution, preserving the spirit of that mission through continuing to uphold the sanctity and dignity of life. Because of their dedication, our employees have developed a reputation as compassionate, skilled professionals who truly love what they do.

Leadership

Baptist has a tradition of strong leadership. From our first hospital director, A. E. Jennings, to our current president and CEO, Stephen C. Reynolds, Baptist has flourished under capable and highly trained leaders. They have guided what began as a 150-bed hospital to what became the nation's largest private hospital at one point. Under our current leadership, Baptist has continued to grow to better meet the needs of the Mid-South — becoming one of the largest not-for-profit health care systems in the United States and one of the nation's top-rated integrated health care delivery systems.

Doctors

Since the hospital opened, Baptist's medical staff has included some of the most noted physicians in the world. Over the years, these physicians have achieved many medical firsts and health care milestones at Baptist, repeatedly placing Memphis and the entire Mid-South on the international medical map. Because of their dedication to their profession and to the people of this community, Baptist physicians have helped shape Memphis into a vibrant, growing health care epicenter.

Nurses

At Baptist, we realize nursing isn't just a profession—it's a calling. At the center of patient care, our nurses seem to have superhuman strength and ability, often working behind the scenes skillfully managing a number of tasks at once. Conferring with physicians. Dispensing medications. Taking blood pressures. Keeping detailed records. But the most important thing they do is take care of the ones you love. And to make sure patients get the care they deserve, Baptist strives to recruit the best nurses in the nation—offering a salary and benefits package that rivals any in the Mid-South.

Support Staff

Behind the front lines of physicians and nurses at Baptist are thousands of colleagues who still work toward the same goal - high-quality, compassionate patient care. Each colleague is an important part of Baptist's daily operation, whether in purchasing, facility services, security or the cafeteria. Like a family, Baptist employees pull together as a team to deliver the best services and programs to other employees, patients and their families.
