Baptist Foundation to host charity art auction

MEMPHIS, Tenn.– The Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation will host its annual Art of Caring benefit to support the Baptist Trinity Hospice House and the Kemmons Wilson Family Center for Good Grief on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The University Club, 1346 Central Ave.

The reception and silent art auction will feature original work specially created for this year’s event. The event will highlight a variety of local artists such as Ken Lecco, Greg Gustafson, Mimi Dann, NJ Woods, Andy Reed, Mary Long and Peggy Drinkard.

Proceeds from Art of Caring support the Baptist Trinity Hospice House, the area’s first residential hospice. The 24-bed residence opened in the fall of 2010 and to date has cared for more than 400 patients. Proceeds will also benefit the Kemmons Wilson Family Center for Good Grief, a comprehensive bereavement center located adjacent to the Hospice House. The center offers free bereavement services to families in the Mid-South area and grief camp programs for children, teens and adults.

The event is open to the community, and tickets are $25 per person.
