Baptist Collierville Hosts Free Screening for New Technology

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. - Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville will host a free screening event on Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for those who might benefit from technology that helps ease paralysis in the upper or lower extremities.

The NESS 300 is a device designed for patients experiencing foot drop because of stroke, brain or spinal cord injury, or multiple sclerosis. Worn on the lower leg and foot, it helps patients walk more easily and naturally. The NESS H200, designed to help patients with neurological disorders affecting the arm and hand, can help the hand open and close, reduce stiffness, increase range of motion and strength, improve circulation and assist in regaining awareness of an impaired limb.

"We are excited to be among a select group of facilities in the country to offer these treatment systems," said Dwana DeSanctis, Baptist Collierville's rehabilitation services manager. "We encourage everyone to join us to see if this exciting new technology can improve your hand function, speed, stability and overall walking pattern."

Anyone who has suffered a stroke or other neurological event may be a candidate for this type of therapy. Interested community members can call Baptist Collierville to make an appointment and complete a short questionnaire to help determine if the devices would benefit them. Please call 861-8926 for more information or to schedule an appointment. Visit to learn more abut how the technology has helped patients.
