Baptist to Host Ninth Women's Heart Sunday Event

Free health screenings available

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -  Baptist Memorial Health Care and Macy's have joined to present the ninth Women's Heart Sunday event on Feb. 27 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at two Memphis-area Macy's stores.

Baptist health care professionals will provide free screenings, including cholesterol, body mass index and blood pressure, as well as information about heart disease in women at the Macy's stores in Oak Court Mall and the Avenue Carriage Crossing in Collierville. In addition, women can complete a risk assessment and speak with Baptist representatives about their results. All women who get a heart assessment will receive free gifts and can register to win an in-depth heart screening test from Stern Cardiovascular.

Baptist is the only health care system in the Mid-South that offers the full spectrum of heart care, from noninvasive cardiology to adult heart transplantation. In 2010, HealthGrades, an independent health care ratings organization, ranked the Baptist Heart Institute's heart surgery program in the top 5 percent in the nation and No. 1 in Tennessee.
