Baptist Union City Names New Administrator

UNION CITY, Tenn. - Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City has named Brad Parsons as administrator and CEO effective Aug. 2.

Parsons replaces Derick Ziegler, who will become administrator and CEO for Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis effective Aug. 15.

Parsons has served as an assistant administrator at Baptist Golden Triangle in Columbus, Miss., over the clinical services division since 2008. Prior to joining Baptist, Parsons spent more than five years as an assistant vice president at Decatur General Hospital in Decatur, Ala. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Birmingham-Southern College. He earned a master's degree in hospital administration and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

"Brad is a great choice and will do exceptionally well," said Ziegler. "I know this community will give him and his family the same warm welcome that was given to my family and me."

Baptist Union City, formerly Obion County General Hospital, became affiliated with Baptist Memorial Health Care in 1982. In 1995, construction was completed on a new three-story, 85,000-square-foot patient tower. This construction added patient rooms and tripled the size of the emergency department. The 173-bed facility offers behavioral health, home care and hospice, physical therapy, cancer treatment and a 24-hour emergency room, among other services.
