BOONEVILLE, Miss., Oct. 28, 2009 – Baptist Memorial Hospital-Booneville has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in computerized tomography scan as a result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology.
The ACR awarded the accreditation to Baptist Booneville after a peer-review evaluation was conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are considered experts in the field. They assessed the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of the facility equipment and then reported their findings to the ACR’s Committee on Accreditation, which provided the practice with a comprehensive report.
“Providing high-quality patient care is our top priority at Baptist Booneville,” said Larkin Kennedy, administrator and CEO of Baptist Booneville. “The ACR accreditation will only add to our patient’s confidence in our abilities to provide them with quality care.”
The ACR is a national organization serving more than 32,000 diagnostic and interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicists and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
Baptist Booneville is a 114-bed hospital that offers diagnostic services, critical care and other acute care services. It operates one of the few geriatric psychiatric units in the area, and it also offers a Sleep Disorder Lab and a specialty clinic that includes cardiology, otolaryngology, neurology, ophthalmology and orthopedic services.
