MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 18, 2009 – The Baptist Trinity Center for Good Grief is now accepting applications for the ninth annual Teen Camp Good Grief to be held Friday, Oct. 16, through Sunday, Oct. 18 at Camp Bear Track in Drasco, Ark.

A professional and caring bereavement staff will have an active part in the camp, helping teens communicate their feelings and explore their grief through support groups and activities involving art, music, journaling and recreation. Transportation, lodging and meals will be provided.

Any teen between the age of 13 and 16 who has lost a loved one in the last two years is eligible for the free camp, funded by a grant from the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation.

Teen Camp Good Grief began in 2001 as the Mid-South’s first teen grief camp and has helped more than 200 teens. Baptist Trinity Center for Good Grief also offers free camps for children and adults.

In 2005, Baptist opened the Baptist Trinity Center for Good Grief, the first comprehensive grief center for children, teenagers and adults in the region. In addition to Camp Good Grief programs, the center offers individual and group counseling, community education and crisis intervention.

Camp applications are due by Aug. 21, 2009. To request an application, make a donation or get more information, please call 901-767-6767.
