MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 11, 2009 – Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women will host a free 6-week weight loss program for teens beginning Monday, June 22.
Adolescents between the ages of 12 and 18 and who are 20 pounds or more overweight are eligible for the program, which offers individualized sessions with a dietitian and personal trainer, lifestyle instruction from a certified diabetes educator and free blood testing for diabetes or prediabetes.
RENEW: Healthy Lifestyle Solutions is a program that addresses the emotional and lifestyle factors that lead to obesity and overeating. Funding for the program is made possible through the Project Diabetes grant from the state of Tennessee. The classes are limited to 12 participants a session.
