MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 3, 2009 - Baptist Rehabilitation-Germantown is sponsoring a free, monthly support group for adults diagnosed with diabetes.
The group will meet at 7 p.m. the last Monday of every month in the hospital’s community room. The hospital is located at 2100 Exeter Road. June’s meeting will be held June 29.
Designed to benefit both the newly diagnosed and those who have been living with the disease, the support group provides a comfortable setting for discussion, education and encouragement. Spouses and family members are encouraged to attend. No reservations are needed.
According to the American Diabetes Association, more than 20.8 million adults and children in the United States are diabetic. Around 14.6 million have been diagnosed with the disease, but 6.2 million have yet to be diagnosed and are unaware they are diabetic.
Baptist Rehab-Germantown is a 68-bed, acute care facility that offers a comprehensive array of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services designed to allow a patient’s complete course of care to take place under one roof.
