Blytheville, Ark., Sept. 11, 2002 - Madhu Kalyan, M.D., recently joined Baptist Memorial
Hospital-Blytheville’s sleep disorders laboratory as a certified
pulmonologist.
Until recently, Kalyan practiced pulmonary care at the Medical Care Center in Hammond and Morocco, Ind. Kalyan graduated from the Mysore Medical College and completed a fellowship at Cook County Hospital in pulmonary medicine. He had another fellowship in sleep disorder medicine at the University of Chicago Hospitals in Chicago.
“With his extensive experience in pulmonology and sleep studies, Dr. Kalyan is an excellent person for this position,” said Brandt Wright, administrator and CEO of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Blytheville. “He is a welcomed addition to our sleep lab and to our hospital.”
Kalyan is board certified in pulmonary medicine, board eligible in sleep medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.
The Baptist Sleep Disorders Laboratory at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Blytheville is a two-bed unit providing diagnostic and treatment services for sleep-related breathing disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea.
Baptist Memorial Hospital-Blytheville became part of the Baptist Memorial Health Care network in 1990. The hospital offers many specialized services, such as a 20-bed Senior Care geriatric behavioral health unit and the Baptist Cancer Institute-Blytheville, which offers the most advanced cancer treatment, from radiation therapy and medical and radiation oncology to counseling. The Women's Center at Baptist Blytheville opened in August
2001 and offers a wide range of services, classes, resources, diagnostics and treatments for women in one convenient location.
