Assessment and Intervention
Services in the Next Step intensive outpatient day treatment program are provided by a multidisciplinary team of professionals including physical, occupational, and speech therapist and a rehabilitation nurse. Additional licensed professionals are available as needed and include psychology, diabetes education, prosthetic/orthotic specialists, and seating specialists.

The dedicated physical, occupational and speech therapists at Baptist Medical Group-Outpatient Care Center have on average 21 years' experience. Many are additionally certified by the American Academy of Brain Injury Specialists. Baptist Medical Group-Outpatient Care Center is the only facility in the metro area that has the capability to provide patients with advanced technology such as: Experia VitalStim, Bioness equipment, InMotion Robotic System and an un-weighing system for ambulation.
Baptist Medical Group-Outpatient Care Center provides nursing and case management services in the Next Step Program. These services include medical monitoring, patient education, team supervision, recreational activities, and family counseling. Care is provided by registered nurses with specialized training and experience in neurological rehabilitation.
Community Outings & Functional Activities
Each week patients and staff in the Next Step program plan community outings, shopping experiences, and a meal. Participation in planning and carrying out these activities allows patients opportunities to carry out skills and tasks learned in real life situations.
