Oncologists are physicians specially trained in cancer treatment. They must be familiar with the many types of cancer and how to treat each one. Your oncologist is up to date on the latest and most effective treatments for your cancer.

You may not see your oncologist at every visit. They are still leading the team of various healthcare providers who care for you. Your present caregiver can consult with your oncologist at any time during the course of your treatment.
