Keep Disease at Bay with 150 a Day

Daily Bread
A heart at peace gives life to the body.
Proverbs 14:30

How to burn an extra 150 calories each day

If every person, starting at age 5, would burn at least 150 calories a day through physical activity, our country would see significant reductions in heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, colon cancer, anxiety and depression. It might help to think of daily activities as a preventive maintenance plan for your health. Just as your car benefits from regularly scheduled maintenance, so does your body.

Depending on the activity, you could crush 150 calories in as little as 15 minutes. Here are a few activity suggestions from the Surgeon General's Report on Physical Activity and Health.
