Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle serves the region as a Level III trauma center. Our hospital’s 38-bed emergency department is always open to provide the care you need. We treat about 67,000 patients each year from Lowndes and surrounding counties, making our emergency room one of the busiest in the Baptist system.

Bariatric Services

Being overweight is a risk factor for a great number of medical conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, orthopedic problems, sleep apnea and even some cancers. Baptist Golden Triangle offers a full range of bariatric services, including weight loss programs, nutrition counseling, and metabolic and bariatric surgical solutions to treat obesity and manage a healthy weight.

Behavioral Health Services

As with many other diseases, we know that substance abuse, mental and behavioral health problems and chemical dependency issues can be serious, life changing and debilitating. People seeking treatment for these health issues deserve to feel cared for and safe.

Our highly qualified multidisciplinary team provides short-term inpatient and outpatient services and is trained to diagnose and treat a variety of mental and behavioral health issues. Our goal is to help patients attain an optimal level of functionality to improve the quality of their lives in a safe, secure environment.

Inpatient services in our 30-bed facility include psychiatric hospitalization and/or medical detox for patients 18 years and above. Admission is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. At Baptist Golden Triangle, we combine the advanced heart care services found at medical clinics in larger metropolitan areas with a personalized level of dignity, respect and compassion that sets our community-based hospital apart. The CardioMEMS HF System is the first and only FDA-approved heart failure monitoring device that has been proven to significantly reduce hospital admissions when used by physicians to manage heart failure. Heart and Vascular Awards and Accreditations

Our cardiac teams are consistently recognized by the American Heart Association for meeting and exceeding national quality improvement measures for the treatment of patients who experience an ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction or STEMI, the deadliest type of heart attack caused by a complete blockage of blood flow to the heart that requires timely treatment.

2023 Chest Pain – MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award

We received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain – MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2022. We were one of only 240 hospitals nationwide to receive this honor. We were also one of only 212 hospitals in the nation to receive this award in 2021. The award recognizes Baptist Golden Triangle’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients.


AACVPR Certified Program

Our Cardiac Rehabilitation program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). The program works to help people who have cardiovascular illnesses or conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart attack, coronary artery bypass surgery, as well as people who have had angioplasties, stents, heart valve surgery or repair and heart transplants.

American College of Cardiology Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation Seal

The American College of Cardiology has accredited Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle’s cardiac catheterization laboratory, an endorsement of the hospital’s ability to treat patients who need heart catheterizations and percutaneous coronary intervention procedures, such as balloon angioplasty.

The American College of Cardiology awarded Baptist Golden Triangle's Chest Pain Center accreditation with Primary PCI for its demonstrated expertise and commitment to treating patients with chest pain. The accreditation is based on rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation Services

Baptist Golden Triangle offers outpatient rehabilitation services for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema, chronic bronchitis and other serious lung diseases. The program offers patients instruction on proper breathing techniques, conserving energy in daily living, identifying the signs of fatigue and exercises that will build endurance.

Stroke Services

At Baptist Golden Triangle, our comprehensive stroke services allows our team to take quick action in order to reduce the impact of a stroke and reduce damage to the brain. Using advanced technology and imaging capabilities, we help stroke victims with quicker, focused intervention when every moment and action counts.

Baptist Cancer Center

When you receive a cancer diagnosis, you want to know that your fears and questions will be addressed quickly, honestly and professionally. Our physicians and clinical staff have more than 250 years of combined experience in doing just that for our patients.

We provide a comfortable environment for treatment through our radiation oncology clinic adjacent to our hospital, our 23-bay chemotherapy infusion center located in our Outpatient Pavilion and our eight-bay infusion center in Starkville, Mississippi.

Provided Cancer Care Services

Our Baptist Golden Triangle cancer care services include radiation oncology, infusion services, chemotherapy treatment, high-dose brachytherapy and Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT). Our facilities host an on-site laboratory and medical technologist, a pharmacist and dedicated pharmacy.

Wound Care 

Baptist Golden Triangle's Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine program offers comprehensive services to heal problem wounds. We work with a broad spectrum of patients providing multidisciplinary services, including:

    • Pressure injuries

    • Compromised skin grafts and flaps

Baptist Hospice-Golden Triangle is one of Mississippi’s longest-running hospice programs. We understand that women have their own unique health care needs and concerns. That’s why Baptist Golden Triangle is committed to providing compassionate, personalized health care services to women of all ages.

Women’s health care services include:

For women of child bearing years, our focus is family-centered care. We offer 10 beautiful, spacious LDR (labor/delivery/recovery) suites and promote parent-newborn bonding through skin-to-skin contact during The Golden Hour. We also, encourage rest and family bonding during a daily Quiet Time, when we dim the lights, limit medical procedures and discourage visitors.

We also offer the services of a certified lactation consultant; virtual childbirth classes; a level II newborn nursery; special C-section suites and recovery room; and pediatrics.

Baby-Friendly Designation

Baptist Golden Triangle has received the Baby Friendly® hospital designation. This prestigious international award recognizes hospitals and birthing centers that offer breastfeeding mothers the information, confidence and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies.

The certification was bestowed by Baby-Friendly USA, Inc., the U.S. authority for the implementation of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI), a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The criteria for the designation is based on Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and are designed to set the standards for the best-possible breastfeeding support for mother and infant in the maternity setting, ensuring high-quality care in this critical area of mother/baby care.

The Baby-Friendly designation is for a period of five years. Each year, Baptist Golden Triangle will report statistics related to the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding to achieve re-designation.

Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology

The radiology department at Baptist Golden Triangle offers a full range of services including PET/CT scans; magnetic resonance imagining (MRI), including open MRI; ultrasound and a special procedure room for interventional radiology and much more.

Sleep Disorders Center

The sleep disorders center at Baptist Golden Triangle treats a variety of sleep-related problems including obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia and restless legs syndrome/periodic limb movement disorder. Located within the hospital, the center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and under the medical direction of a certified sleep physician. We now offer a home sleep evaluation as a convenient option in addition to an on-site sleep study.

Rehab Services

Rehabilitation services at Baptist Golden Triangle are designed to help you get back to the activities you enjoy. Whether your goal is to return to the golf course or to take care of your grandchildren, our therapists develop a personalized therapy plan for both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

We offer extensive rehabilitation in several key areas: physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology as well as pulmonary rehab.
