Assessment and Intervention
Services in the Next Step intensive outpatient day treatment program are provided by a multidisciplinary team of professionals including physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapist and a rehabilitation nurse. Additional licensed professionals are available as needed and include psychology, wound care, diabetes education, prosthetic/orthotic specialists, seating specialists, and chaplain services.

Dr. Sunita Jain, Medical Director
Dr. Jain has over 20 years of experience as a physiatrist, a physician specializing in rehabilitation.
The dedicated physical, occupational and speech therapists at Baptist Rehabilitation-Germantown have on average 21 years experience. Many are additionally certified by the American Academy of Brain Injury Specialists. Baptist Rehab-Germantown is the only facility in the metro area that has the capability to provide patients with advanced technology such as: FES Bicycle, Experia VitalStim, Bioness equipment, InMotion Robotic System and an un-weighing system for ambulation.
Baptist Rehab-Germantown provides nursing and case management services in the Next Step Program. These services include medical monitoring, patient education, team supervision, recreational activities, family counseling and recreational planning. Care is provided by registered nurses with specialized training and experience in neurological rehabilitation.
Community Outings & Functional Activities
Each week patients and staff in the Next Step program plan community outings, shopping experiences, and a meal. Participation in planning and carrying out these activities allows patients opportunities to carry out skills and tasks learned in real life situations.
