Brain Injury Program Outcomes
The brain injury outcomes (how a patient's FIM [Functional Independence Measures] scores improve admission to discharge) at Baptist Rehabilitation-Germantown, Patients in BRG's program averaged a FIM change of 24.7, compared to Regional 25.7 and National 24 averages.
63% of inpatients were discharged to community settings after an average stay of 12 days. This length of stay exceeds Regional, 14 day, and National, 16 day, length of stays.
- Patients who continued therapy after discharge in our Next Step day treatment program came for an average of 20 visits.
- Patients routinely receive an minimum of three hours of physical, occupational and speech therapies per day before discharge from inpatient rehabilitation. Many patients also receive neuropsychology, recreation therapy, respiratory therapy, nutritional therapy and community skills practice. Only 14% required an acute care hospitalization after admission to rehabilitation.
