Community Involvement

Baptist Rehabilitation-Germantown is involved with the Traumatic Brain Injury Services of West Tennessee, Brain Injury Association of America, and local public service initiatives - including participation in community events that focus on BI prevention, education, and awareness of prevalence in the Memphis area. Baptist Rehabilitation-Germantown also actively contributes to the following:

  • West TN TBI Services' Ride for Your Mind
  • West TN TBI Services' Annual Picnic and Halloween Party
  • Community Resource Guides

Patient/Family Education

Baptist Rehabilitation-Germantown provides bi-weekly on-site brain injury education classes for family and survivors that highlight physiology, symptoms, coping skills, and resources surrounding brain injury rehabilitation. These classes cover:

  • Physiology of brain injury
  • Types of brain injury
  • Modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors for further BI
  • Explanation of symptoms of BI, emphasis on cognitive and behavior issues
  • Available support systems and community resources

Support Groups

Baptist Rehabilitation-Germantown hosts a monthly TBI Support Group meeting and provides information for support groups provided through West TN TBI Services.
