Dr. Karabell joined The Endocrine Clinic in 2009 after finishing her pediatrics residency and pediatric endocrinology fellowship at University of Tennessee and Baptist Medical Group in 2014. After finishing her fellow, she was hired as an attending and assistant professor at University Tennessee. She moved to Memphis with her family in 2000 from Caracas, Venezuela. Dr. Karabell received her medical degree from University of Central of Venezuela, Caracas. Dr. Karabell worked extensively in diabetes research at the University of Tennessee endocrinology department, prior to starting her fellowship. She had several publications in the area of DKA treatment, ketosis – prone type 2 diabetes pathophysiologic and effects of free fatty acids on insulin secretion.
