Birthing Classes    These classes will help expectant mothers, along with fathers, siblings and grandparents, prepare for the new arrival.

Preparation for Childbirth
This four-week series covers information on the process of labor, pain management options, basic breathing and relaxation techniques and a tour of the labor and delivery facilities. At the end of the four-week series you may elect to take two additional classes that cover advanced breathing techniques, massage therapy and comfort measures for those planning a "natural delivery." The cost of the four-week series is $55, and the cost of the two additional classes is $20. This series is offered three to four weeknights every month.

Saturday - One-Day Childbirth Education
As an alternative to the traditional prepared childbirth course, this all-day Saturday session covers the same information as the weeknight course in one eight-hour day. A tour of labor and delivery and the information covered in the two additional weeknight classes are also included. The cost of the Saturday course is $75. This class is offered twice a month.

Lamaze Refresher
An abbreviated class for those who have previously attended childbirth classes and are needing a "refresher" on Lamaze or natural childbirth techniques. It covers a review of the labor process and breathing and relaxation techniques. The cost of this class is $25. The class is offered every other month, on a Saturday afternoon.

Breastfeeding Class
This class covers the basics of breastfeeding, getting started, returning to work and resources for assistance and information. The cost of the class is $10. This single-session class is offered twice a month, once on a Saturday afternoon and once on a weekday.

Expectant Parents Class
Topics covered in this single-session class cover "baby basics" including information on infant care, surviving the first few weeks and infant safety. Break-out sessions will cover specific information for both moms and dads. This class is offered twice a month on Saturdays, and the cost is $15 for one parent attending or $20 if both parents attend.
   Expectant Parents Class

Grandparents Class
Designed as an update on childbirth and parenting practices, this class covers infant care, assisting the new parents and tips for grandparents. This single-session class is offered on a weeknight every other month. The cost of the class is $10.

Sibling Class    Sibling Class
This class is designed for children expecting a new brother or sister. This "hands-on" interactive class prepares siblings for the new arrival. Information is also provided to parents on making the transition easier. Children from the ages of two - ten are welcome to attend. This class is offered twice a month on Saturdays. The cost is $15 per child or $20 for two children or more in the same family.

Infant Safety/CPR
This single-session class covers CPR techniques (but not certification), infant safety, basic first aid and car seat safety. The cost of the class is $25 per couple; grandparents are also welcome to attend this class. This class is offered one Saturday a month.

SuperSitters Class
For teens and pre-teens, this all-day class (9 a.m. - 3 p.m.) covers babysitting issues, including responsibilities of sitting as well as basic first-aid and safety instruction. This class is offered various times throughout the year on a Saturday, and we will also offer summertime weekday classes. The cost of this class is $35.
