Dear Friends:
Mike Perryman Administrator & CEO, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City
Henry Lewis Board of Directors Chairman, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City
At Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City, we are excited and proud to be an integral part of the fabric of this community. It has been a great year for us at the hospital – our physician partners and our 400 colleagues – as we have added services and enhanced programs to serve you. We take pride in providing high-quality health care to our patients, and believe it’s our responsibility to actively participate in and support the community we serve. Through the care we provide to patients each day, as well as the many activities and programs we conduct that enhance the health and well-being of our community, we strive to live Baptist’s mission of preaching, teaching and healing.
We are committed to the development and growth of this community through facility improvements, support of educational programs and partnerships with local organizations that promote healthy living and wellness.
Recently Baptist Union City opened our new Baptist Centers for Cancer Care. The 13,500-square-foot facility is an approximate $4.5 million investment. As an added touch, we displayed more than $33,000 of visual therapy artwork throughout the center, helping make cancer patients’ experiences a little better. We were proud and excited to have hundreds of people from the community tour the new facility, where approximately 20-25 patients are seen each day, and approximately 6,500 treatments are given each year. Additionally, our colleagues contributed more than $8,500 to benefit the Obion County Cancer Agency, an organization that assists cancer patients with financial needs. We also collected gifts for more than 100 children who participate in local Head Start programs. You’ll read about more such efforts of ours to make our community a better place for all to live. But these are only a few of our contributions to our community this year. It is always exciting to see how our commitment to help and serve others travels beyond the walls of our facility.
When you consider all our efforts that provided benefit for the community this past year – whether through providing charity care for the indigent or such activities as free health screenings for the community – our total community benefit amounts to $12.2 million. We thank you for the opportunity to serve you, and continue to pledge to you Baptist Union City’s commitment to offering high-quality health care and enhancing the overall quality of life in our community.
Respectfully,
Mike Perryman
