Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi is proud to showcase the following special employees who have been recognized by their peers for their outstanding work. Because these colleagues have demonstrated a superior commitment to patients and co-workers, the hospital gave them its Service First award. Every quarter, Baptist North Mississippi gives the award to an employee who has been nominated by colleagues for excellent work and a caring attitude. These are the stories of just a few of the people who make our hospital special.

Service First Champion - Fourth Quarter 2009
Stephanie Bramlitt, diagnostic radiology
“Stephanie is always thinking about the patient first. I have never known her to call in or come to work late. Everyone in the department can count on her and she is willing to do whatever is needed to get the job done. She walks patients up their room when they aren’t able to wait in our holding area, and she always helps out her colleagues if she is available. It’s the small things that make an employee this special and Stephanie is full of these small, helpful qualities.” — Nominated by Hailey Shelton

Service First Champion - Third Quarter 2009
Jason McCain, RN ICU-StepDown Unit
Jason works in our ICU-StepDown Unit, and according to his coworkers, he really seems to know what Service First is all about. He was nominated by a family whose patient was terminal ill. This family wrote a letter to our administrator, Mr. Hutson, praising Jason and stating how kind, compassionate, and helpful he was to the family during this time of great sadness.
This family even made arrangements with Mr. Hutson to come to the floor with them and to be present while they presented a plaque to Jason on behalf of the family. Jason’s manager said that he is so diligent with his duties and shows great bedside manner with the patients and families. She added that Jason is a great team player and has been a valuable asset to their unit with the new computer phase.
