This year we were fortunate to collaborate with several organizations on community efforts that created a stronger North Mississippi region, including Oxford-Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Mississippi Blood Services, American Cancer Society, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, Interfaith Compassion Ministry, Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi, American Heart Association, Oxford School District, Lafayette School District, Oxford University School, Regents School, Salvation Army, Leap Frog after-school tutoring program, March of Dimes, Meals on Wheels, Northwest Mississippi Community College and the University of Mississippi.

effort and money to many important community causes. For instance, 15 of our colleagues volunteered to conduct health screenings for more than 350 women during Women’s Awareness Week. More than 40 hospital colleagues participated in the Relay for Life fundraiser benefiting the American Cancer Society, raising more than $4,000 to support cancer research. And more than 50 Baptist colleagues contributed merchandise for a garage sale in the hospital parking garage to raise money for our local United Way, the Employee Emergency Assistance Fund and the Patient Needs Fund. These are just a few ways that our team worked in 2004 to help make our community a better place for us all to live.
