Dear Friends:
We also take pride in meeting the needs of the patients we serve, and we strive to take an active role in serving the community. It is through the continued support of this community that the hospital can provide outstanding care and fulfill our not-for-profit mission of preaching, teaching and healing. In 2004, Baptist Union County invested more than $1 million in technological advancements within the Radiology department to further enhance patient convenience and speed of results. An advanced CT scanner provides physicians with high-quality images necessary for timely and accurate diagnoses – meaning patients can stay right here close to home and get great care. We also recently completed a $328,000 renovation to the Women’s Center to enhance our patients’ comfort during labor and delivery. The newly renovated area provides a relaxing, home-like setting for each mother and her family during this miraculous moment in life. Being community-focused has allowed us to serve more than 3,000 residents during health fairs and screenings throughout the community, schools and area industries. Our goal is to provide convenient access, awareness and education to improve the quality of life of everyone in our community. Thank you for allowing our medical staff and colleagues to serve such a great community throughout 2004. When you consider all our efforts that provided community benefit in 2004 - whether through providing charity care for the indigent or such activities as free health screenings for the community – our total community benefit amounts to $13.5 million.
